On 6 December 2017, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the 2nd International Conference "Digital Belt and Road" (DBAR 2017) and the 3rd Conference on Remote Sensing Applications in Tropical and Subtropical Areas (RSATSA 2017) commenced their work.

Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the "AEROCOSMOS" Research Institute, Academician V.G. Bondur, serves as Co-Chairman of the Scientific Committee of this event. He delivered a plenary report on the topic "Remote Sensing of Seas and Oceans, Including in Tropical and Subtropical Regions," which generated great interest among the conference participants.

The conferences serve as an international platform for collaboration among scientists engaged in research within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the application of Earth observation technologies.
